BRUNEIANS can now apply to participate in the ASEAN-China Youth Exchange Visit, which is slated to take place in Cambodia some time next year.
Eight places are up for grabs in each country, including four females.
Funded by the ASEAN-China Cooperation Fund, the project is one of the activities to mark the 10th anniversary of ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership in 2013.
The multilateral youth exchange will be held in Siem Reap province in Cambodia.
The visit aimed to provide youth of ASEAN states and China to foster community awareness as future leaders of a global society, and enrich knowledge through the exchange of experiences related to the history, culture and tourism of ASEAN and China, according to the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
Organised by Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the programme also hoped to lay the foundation for solidarity among youth to further deepen mutual understanding, friendship and greater awareness on ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership.
The visit will also look at improving communication skills, teamwork and self-expression among youth, and to develop their skills in networking, establish contacts and linkages among their peers from other ASEAN member states and China.
Interested applicants are required to be aged 18 to 25, able to speak English fluently, as well as having prior knowledge and interest of cooperation between ASEAN and China.
Government and NGO officers, university students, youth organisations and business members of Brunei are allowed to join the programme.
Registration forms are available at the Youth Section, third floor of Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, or the Youth Centre in Bandar Seri Begawan during working hours only.
The closing date for submission of forms is Saturday, January 4 at 3pm.
