Gov’t offers scholarships to international students to study in Sultanate

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE Brunei Government is offering annual scholarships for foreign students to study in the Sultanate for the 2014/2015 academic session.

Citizens of ASEAN, OIC, Commonwealth member states and other countries are invited to apply for the special scholarship award scheme for the opportunity to study at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and Institut Teknologi Brunei (ITB).
Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 25 for undergraduate programmes and not older than 35 for postgraduate programmes as of July 31, 2014.
In addition to tuition fee exemptions, scholars will receive a return air ticket to Brunei as well as monthly personal allowance of $500, monthly food allowance of $150, annual book allowance of $600 andbaggage allowance up to $500.
The closing date for applications is January 17, 2014. Completed forms, together with certified copies of relevant certificates and documents, must be submitted to the Technical Assistance Division.
Application forms can be obtained from Brunei foreign missions and Brunei representatives abroad or from the Technical Assistance Division located at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Bandar Seri Begawan.
